Susan Nicholson BSc (Hons) MCSP, HCPC

I live in Lindfield with my husband and 4 children. I qualified in 2000 with a first class honours BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire. I began my career working in Brighton NHS Trust gaining experience in all areas of Physiotherapy such as respiratory, orthopaedics, neurology, musculoskeletal, elderly care, surgery and ITU. It was during this time that I developed my special interest in Neurology as I enjoyed the diversity of what each day could bring, and also the sense of pride in helping individuals to maximise their function and quality of life.

Early on I gained experience working within stroke rehab, Neuro-surgical and medical wards, acute stroke and mixed Neuro rehab. In 2007, I became the Team Lead on the acute Stroke Unit at The Princess Royal Hospital. I worked there up until 2016 where I moved across to be the Team Lead on the Neuro-medical ward. In 2019, I became the Team Lead for Neuro out-patients so I have gained an all round experience in many different areas.

I am fully Bobath trained and have experience of a wide range of Neurological conditions, spasticity management, orthotics, exercise prescription, hydrotherapy, PD Warrior, clinical pilates and group exercise classes. I believe in working in partnership with my clients to identify their goals, using an individualised and holistic approach to help achieve them.

I am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (MCSP) and of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology (ACPIN).
